I have been in your shoes. I know what it is like to reach out for help. It can be both scary and exciting, and above all it is brave. I want to support you in your journey. I believe we are all constantly learning, moving and growing in our personal and professional lives. Therapy is a journey of self-exploration. It is both what happens in and outside of the therapy room.
I have worked in the mental health field (as a coach, counselor or art therapist) since 2011. My practice is grounded in my values. I value connection. I value compassion. I value creativity. My mission is to serve and give back through my work in the mental health community and to be an advocate for Art Therapy and counseling. Creativity is healing and when we bring our creative ideas to life, we give birth to our own unique stories. Therapy is a human profession. The relationship between a client and therapist provides a unique opportunity for learning, healing, and practicing new healthy behaviors. I believe we are all imperfect and that makes us unique and interesting.
While I believe everyone can benefit from therapy, it is also important to find the right fit in a therapist. I specialize in shame reduction, trauma work, and living a wholehearted life. I incorporate art therapy, positive psychology, expressive arts, the Daring Way™ (based on the research of Brené Brown), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work with children, adolescents, and adults..
The Imperfectionista Manifesto:
I believe we are all searching for meaningful connection
I believe creativity comes in all forms
I believe imperfection is real, authentic, and shockingly beautiful
I believe growth is remarkable
… and not always comfortable.
I believe in good ‘ol fashion fun
I believe in discovering your voice AND unlocking your inner child
I believe we never stop discovering new things about …the world/ourselves/how we relate
I believe in building an authentic imperfect life
And I know you do too. Welcome.
Love – KT

Hello and welcome! My name is Lisa. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and Clinical Art Therapist. It is my belief that one of the bravest things that you can do is to explore and understand your own story. Are you looking for guidance in mastering how you respond to the challenges of life? How you manage relationships with others and even the relationship you have with yourself? Have you sought out help in the past and received diagnoses that tell you what you already know without offering solutions? I will work alongside you, not to solve your problems, but to create a safe space where answers can emerge through therapeutic collaboration. My hope is to help you support yourself in aligning with your true self to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. It is my goal to develop a safe, accepting, and supportive therapeutic relationship that provides you the foundation for change. Thank you for taking time in reading my profile. You are not alone, and you do not have to heal alone.
ABOUT ME
I have a personal experience with recovery, which I sought in 2013. This has enabled me to have unique perspective on the feelings of powerlessness within the family unit as well as individually. I understand the challenges of seeking help, the dedication required to build a life of prosperity and contentment, and the importance of honesty with oneself. My specialized skill set combines a deep understanding of the disease model of addiction with a genuine desire to assist those struggling to cope with life's stressors and challenges. Along with being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a License Associate Substance Abuse Counselor, I am a Registered Clinical Art Therapist (ATR) and help others broaden their awareness though clinical art therapy techniques, to aid in personal insight and healing when it may be hard to find the words. Art is a passion of mine as well, and I find there is a great sense of self-discovery in the process.
EXPERIENCE
My career has spanned over a decade with a dedication to the field of addiction and mental health disorders. I have experience working at a Therapeutic Day School, Partial Hospitalization Programs and Intensive Outpatient Programs, where I offered integrated care for Substance Use Disorders, Eating Disorders, Complex Trauma, and Mood Disorders as a treatment coordinator, primary therapist, and group therapist. I use evidence-based techniques to tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and goals. My style is interactive, yet at the same time allowing for space to explore personal experiences without judgment.
